Our Achilles Wisconsin Chapter will have the dinner party for Kim on November 11th / Sunday / 2:00pm because Chef Adi (wonderful husband and "great catch" of Achilles member Debbie) will be making some of Kim's FAVORITE dishes complete with his famous "Chef Adi's Flourless Chocolate Cake!" (Kim was in heaven after eating that!)

We will be celebrating Kim's "Lifetime Achievement Award for being the founder Achilles Wisconsin" and also being recognized as "National Achilles Athlete of the Year."

Kim will be receiving her award at the New York City Athletic Club (yes, that's where they give out the Heisman Trophy!) on October 29th. Kim will remain in New York for the remainder of the week and on November 4th run the New York City Marathon. Go Kimmers!

Halloween This Thursday!

Let's dress up this Thursday (Service Dogs included) for Halloween! If you don't have a costume, just wear a special hat. It's the time of the year to let loose!

Dee, at right, is getting ready for another ski run, and at far right is going down the hill with a volunteer.

She won a grant from the Adaptive Sports Association in Durango, Colorado to try adaptive skiing for a week! I grabbed these photos from a series of photos she has at Dee Skiing.

Since November of 2005, we have profiled 99 outstanding volunteers in communities in and around Madison. And we wanted to check back in on three people we've profiled in the last year. These are people who were nominated by our viewers because of their generosity. Not all of these updates have a happy ending. Good bone healing!

"I go to Ortho on Friday to see if my 2nd cast can come off. I have two breaks in my foot.

One healed and the other needed to catch up so the last time they put a new cast on for two weeks.

Hoping to get a walking boot, but we'll see. Keep your fingers and toes crosses.

I have tickets for the Badger game Sat. night and sure plan on going. I will certainly need the walking therapy as soon as I can.

I know my leg is withering. Bob will definitely be faster than me. Please give everyone my best. Will join you as soon as I can drive.

12:30 pm Start Long Race/Tour - 5 km
1:30 pm am Start Short Race/Tour(Cat ski for Light for visually impaired) - 2.5 km
