Wheelchair curling clinic - Madison

What: Wheelchair Curling Outreach Clinic & Exhibition
When: Friday, Jan. 4 from 1-3:30 p.m.
Where: Madison Curling Club, 4802 Marsh Rd., McFarland, 53558.

The interest in this sport has grown significantly in the months following the Paralympic Winter Games where wheelchair curling was included as a medal sport for the first time. Recently the team for the World Wheelchair Championship in Switzerland was determined. All members of Team USA will be on hand for this free clinic to act as instructors and educate everyone as to the special needs to develop wheelchair curling. This will include both off ice, and on ice explanation or our great sport.

We encourage anyone that works in, or has interest in the Adaptive Sports field to attend this Clinic, and to invite any potential Athletes that they feel would be interested in learning about wheelchair curling and the opportunities that it presents.

If you are interested in attending, email Steve Brown , U.S. Wheelchair National & Paralympic curling coach, steve@stevescurling.com

"January is named after the Roman god Janus, who was always shown as having two heads. He looked back to the last year and forward to the new one. The Roman New Year festival was called the Calends, and people decorated their homes and gave each other gifts."
